Did you not see Moneyball? The answer must be no.

To the memories of Gene Tenace, Joe Rudi, Rollie Fingers, Sal Bando (and even to local Carmel Valley resident Reggie Jackson)

OUCH man! Actually I've seen Moneyball many times so far and read the book, and the movie took many liberties I found out. Still a really good movie about my favorite team.

Hey don't forget the 80's A's. That's the era I saw MANY games. Juiced up or not those are some of my fondest memories, my Dad taking me to many A's games. Killer seats and usually good weather and lucky enough that the team was always in it those years.

Oh well, if the A's stink at least make it so the damn Giants don't win either. Yep I'm a hater

Nope, but it'll be fun to watch Cespedes hit 30 homers and strikeout 230 times.

Hey Johnny,

Since **I** have little hope for the A's this year, I'm pretty sure they will do OK. They are in the same division as Pujols(LAA) and Hamilton(TEX) and I'm certain the A's are not better than either of those teams. Thus, while I think they may have a better year, there's no way they make the post-season. I just don't see that happening.

Moneyball made me sad. I think the glorification of Billy Beane is mostly unwarranted. His claims to fame are Jeremy Giambi and Scott Hattieberg....really? While I like some of this season's moves(The Gio Gonzales trade might turn out very good for the A's), overall I hate seeing my team trade up-and-comers for players named "Prospect".

Reggie Jackson is, and always will be, a Major League Douchebag.

Thus, the placement of his name in (parentheses). I still have an unopened Reggie bar. Too bad my Billy beer can was opened and is empty.

I knew you'd have the scoop. I'm so far removed from it all I don't pay as much attention to the details. Yeah Moneyball the movie was more hyped up than the book. Still seems the real problem is no money though. Would like to see them do good again though.
